7/15 BENGAL BN NCC HB COLLEGE NALHATI (BRIBHUM)

1) About NCC

 National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from High Schools, Colleges and Universities all over India. The cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.

LT GEN GURBIRPAL SINGH, AVSM, VSM DG NCC

  • Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM, VSM was commissioned into The PARACHUTE REGIMENT in 1987. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He has attended the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, the Higher Command Course in Mhow and the National Defence College Course in New Delhi.
  • He has been a Company Commander in counter insurgency environment in Nagaland and in the Siachen Glacier. He has commanded a Special Forces Battalion in the intense counter terrorism environment of the Valley Sector in Kashmir and also in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. He has commanded a Mountain Brigade & an Infantry Division on the Line of Control.
  • The General Officer has tenanted the appointments of General Staff Officer (Operations) in Sector Headquarters Rashtriya Rifles. He has had two tenures each in Military Operation Directorate and Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff. Besides, he has been an Instructor at the Commando School and Indian Military Training Team.
  • An alumnus of the National Cadet Corps, Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM, VSM has now taken over the reins of National Cadet Corps – The premier youth organization of the country, as its 34th Director General on 27 Sep 2021.

  • He is an Ex-NCC cadet, 21 Bengal BN NCC, RKMV , BELUR MATH,  KOLKATA (B) . NCC, He has qualified for NCC certificates ‘B’ examinations. He has been a best cadet during his undergraduate studies in 2015. 
  • He completed the Pre-Commission (PRCN) course, SD-176, with an “C” grade, at the NCC Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee, Nagpur, Maharashtra, India (12 JUNE–09  SEPTEMBER 2024) and was commissioned as "Lieutenant" by National Cadet Corps (NCC), Ministry of Defence, Government of India. During the course, he has undergone rigorous military training in various aspects of NCC administration.

4) AIM & OBJECTIVES

  • To develop good qualities like good character discipline, patriotism, secularism, hard work attitude, sportsman spirit, adventure etc, among Indian youth to mould them into useful citizen.
  • To create a resource of human youth who are competent to take responsibilities in various walks of life.
  • To create a pool of human youth to absorb into Indian armed forces like Army, Navy, Air Force and other paramilitary forces.
  • Unity and Discipline: The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline” which was adopted on 23 Des.1957. In living up to its motto, the NCC strive to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and moulding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of the nation.

5) NCC Flag

In 1954 the existing tricolour flag was introduced. The three colours in the flag depict the three services in the corps, red for Army, deep blue for Navy and light blue for the Air Force. The letters NCC and the NCC crest in gold in the middle of the flag encircled look and a distinct identity. Each lotus represents one NCC Directorate.

6) NCC OUTH

I do hereby solemnly promise that I will serve my motherland most truly and loyally, and That I will abide by the rules and the regulations of the National Cadet Corps. Further under the command and control of my commanding officer I will participate in every camp most sincerely and most whole-heartedly.

7) Cardinals of Discipline for NCC Cadets

  • Be Punctual.
  • Work hard and without fuss.
  • Make no excuses and tell no lies.

8) ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

  • The candidate should be on the Roll of the College.
  • Should satisfy such standard of physical fitness in height, chest measurement and other respects as may be specified by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
  • Should be of good character.
  • Should be a citizen of India.
  • Should be under the age of 26 years.
  • Overweight and unfit candidates will not be considered; hence physically fit candidates will be selected.

9)  DOCUMENT REQUIRED

  • The candidate should be on the Roll of the College.
  • Should satisfy such standard of physical fitness in height, chest measurement and other respects as may be specified by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
  • Should be of good character.
  • Should be a citizen of India.
  • Should be under the age of 26 years.

10) DOCUMENT REQUIRED FOR NCC ADMISSION

  • TC/LC Xerox (HS).
  • Aadhaar Xerox.
  • Medical Certificate Signature of Civil Surgeon (MBBS, seal and registration Number)
  • Last Exam Mark Sheet Xerox. /HS
  • College Identity Card / Regular Admission Fee Receipt Xerox.
  • (SBI) Bank Pass Book Xerox (Savings Account in the name of the cadet)

11) Certificate Examination ​

  • “B” Certificate : To appear cadet must have undergone training of two years in senior division/ wing with minimum 75% attendance. Must have attended one Annual training Camp. Exam conducted by 5 Delhi. Bn. NCC, Kashmere Gate, Delhi
  • “C” Certificate : To appear cadet must be in passion of “B” Certificate. Must have 75% attendance. Must have attended two Annual training Camps. Exam conducted by NCC GpHq Delhi ‘B’
