GENDER CELL
Welcome to the Gender Cell of Hiralal Bhakat College. It came into existence in 2015 with the aim of creating a more egalitarian environment for our students that would be conducive to their emotional and academic development. The cell , in recognition of the college’s strong belief in ideals of dignity , honesty and respect, works tirelessly in ensuring that the students develop deep knowledge about prevalent gender bias, discrimination and gender based violence in our society and inspires them to believe in and actively promote equality, gender justice and non-discrimination. The cell organizes workshops, seminars and various other activities to encourage gender sensitization among students . The idea of Gender in general and gender justice in particular is really all encompassing in nature and it is only through a robust process of debates, self-inquiry, discussion and dialogue that true progress can be achieved. The cell is working tirelessly with this objective in consideration.The cell aims at empowering all of the students in such a way that theybecome responsible self-respecting members of our society who uphold and protect the rights of those individuals who are situated in the marginalized sections of the society .
